Artist's Comments

It amazes me to see how much colour and detail there is in the smallest, most mundane thing, once you strip away the distractions. People have mental constructions to filter out all this detail, all this beauty. Otherwise, nobody would ever do anything... just look, and play.

true dat.

great shot.

The background on this really makes it... For some reason I think of a children's playground in this... like the teeter-totter or some other part. When you're a child, playing, you notice how the water lay on the metal bars, before you try and play on them.. And then the backdrop, the place that's forbidden to a questing child... tempting because it's fobidden, beautiful because you know if you were ever actually allowed there, you would see that those trees, that place was a normal one, filled with the same objects and lacking the same imagination as everywhere else.

Lol, sorry, kinda took that and ran with it. Hope you don't mind :)

It's funny that you saw it that way... I took it from my balcony. that building in the background is a middle school. Funny that just a tiny piece of that spilled over into the feel of the picture. Of course I don't mind you running with ideas, it's wonderful that you read so much into my photos... flattering, really.

Very impressive work. The hint of color in the reflection is a nice touch, it really stands out against the "washed" background.

Thankyou very much =)

I very much like the selective desaturation here, though the reflection could have been even more saturated just to give it slightly more bounce. I'm known to be a tad over the top, though. Me and Peter Jackson share a likeness there.
